Cornyn and the RNC can piss and moan all they want about Paxton being a fraudster, but the reality is that he has also easily won his elections on even greater margins than Cruz. And that isn’t going to change when the big ticket offices are still dominated by Republicans.
Down ballot effects are being understated for whatever reason and it doesn’t even just show in Texas. Florida’s local landslide in 2022 pushed local Republicans into a supermajority and entirely boosted by DeSantis and Rubio being on the ballot.
