This is one of the few things both the left and right agree with right now. The build out of these Data centers happened way to quickly. this comes just as The cost increase in consumer electronics are just starting to bite, as companies run out of old inventor. When consumer start seeing prices shock, I can expect them to become even less popular

Well they do suck up power causing local energy price increases in the area.
And that is even if the data center provides its own power. Usually the local energy company, who would need to be involved in any energy production, would raise the prices for everyone else just because; data center.
Other issues include land and water usage with no major job increases in the area.
All for AIs that people see right now as glorified search engines.
