Submission Statement: Early this morning Senate Republicans passed a $70B bill to fund Trump’s immigration policies through the end of his term. Included in the bill was $38.6B for ICE, $22.6B for the Border Patrol, $5B for DHS and $108.5 million for child exploitation investigations. Notably absent was any funding for the White House ballroom or any prohibitions on the 2B settlement.

Relevance: Well, this is pretty much what I expected. Chucky S managed to get all Republicans save Murkowski on record as opposing any legal prohibitions on the slush fund but failed to negotiate mandatory bodycams or restrictions on facemasks for ICE. While some GOP senators did support individual amendments they ultimately all fell in line.

  2. And yet when I checked today Dems are only up +6 on the generic ballot. Bob Altemeyer was right about Americans. There’s really no way out of this.

I assume that it hasn’t already passed the house. Do they have the votes?

Good thing they gave another $31B to ICE. I was really concerned that we were low on funding to terrorize legal immigrants.

How the fuck can McConnell block gun control immediately after Newton, but Schumer lets this shit happen?
