The trillionaire thing is so misleading. Like, yeah, he has a trillion on paper but none of its liquid. It’s all tied up in ownership of companies and the moment he tries to sell a bit the value of the rest of his holdings collapses.

US government contractor with connections to classified government agencies, borrows NASA scientists from government (type of privatisation of government assets) to launch NSA satellites and in process becomes trillionaire.
Ok, can’t be any corruption there…

What does one even do with a trillion dollars…. I need him to give me an amex with no limit TODAY lol. Obviously it’s not liquid but good gosh.

Guys just figured out every racket possible to keep his businesses afloat. One of the most depressing ones is that he’s convinced so many stupid people to collectively believe he will one day make it to Mars, even though he’s just making old third wave tech slightly cheaper. I just have no idea how they came up with this valuation for something even with all his companies rolled into it, that will be obsolete as soon as we have a breakthrough in energy. It’s kind of funny too that all the money he saved on boosters in being driven right back up by inflation, war, and AI datacenters he’s also responsible for that all burn methane generators to make up the energy gaps in our infrastructure.
