A good mate of mine is from Arizona, but parents from Spain. He moved to Spain to settle a family despute and that’s when we met.

Everyone should read the linked article, it’s outstanding and so patriotic. Seeing Europeans react to the real USA is always a joy.

You are reading too much into it. They look at USA as sideshow attraction and collecting internet points because it’s popular. None of them would live in USA
