Azerbaijan’s entire national identity is centered on exterminationist hatred of Armenians. Azeris who murder Armenians abroad are given heroes welcomes back home, crowds cheer to recordings of Armenian prisoners being tortured to death, and Azeri children are taught that Armenians aren’t even human. Azerbaijan is likely the single most hateful society in the world today and there is no reason to believe they will stop until they are stopped.
Watching Azerbaijan commit a genocide in 2023 and nobody give a shit or do anything to stop it was one of the most disheartening moments of my life, and is the true worst foreign policy failure of the Biden Presidency.
