Nothing to do with wage slavery that gets harder and harder to survive every year, my grandparents, both worked, my nan part time, that allowed them to live well off middle class lifestyles, with multiple property ownership, holidays every year, etc, she helped a hairdresser, and he was a postman.
Now a family with 2 working parents, working full, time in those roles wouldnt have enough to get a mortgage, let alone anything else.

In this same era, there are photographs of extremely impoverished people – including white people, who could not even afford shoes for all of their children, who had to hand make clothing still from sackcloth and who did not have the beautiful kitchen, happy children and loving husband depicted in these images.
But the very people descended from poverty, imagine that THEY had this sort of idyllic life, and would today if we could just return to this era.
Only now, many are convinced that it is immigrants and women depriving them of this, rather than the immoral, greedy corporations who have squeezed Americans until a family can barely survive, let alone thrive, all in the name of personal and shareholder profit.

I would love to be a stay at home mom and take care of my family. It’s a natural instinct as a woman to be a nurturer just as it’s natural for men to be providers. It’s biological built into both sexes because we’re meant to balance each other. It’s actually a beautiful thing.
