German police are reportedly investigating suspicious listings on Vinted after multiple users flagged items being sold for several thousand euros with descriptions such as "boy, 10 months old, 70 cm." From what I've seen, authorities in Dortmund are looking into whether there's anything criminal behind these listings.
Does anyone else remember the whole Wayfair controversy from a few years ago? I was living in the U.S. when that story broke, and as far as I know, nothing was ever substantiated or resulted from it.
I live in Germany now, and I'm glad this is at least being investigated rather than immediately dismissed. Hopefully it turns out to be nothing more than a hoax or people trolling the platform. Until the investigation is complete, it's probably best not to jump to conclusions either way.
