I watched this earlier (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0jt09ZWp4c), and now I’m wondering how I never came across John Dee before in all the time I’ve spent reading about this subject.

I always assumed discussions about non-human intelligence started with Roswell, modern sightings, or recent disclosure. I didn’t expect to see people tracing some of the same ideas back to a guy in the 1500s who claimed to communicate with angels through what became known as the Enochian system.

The part that really got me was the name “ABORYMON.” I’d never heard of it before, and after looking around a bit, I’m still not sure whether it’s a genuinely important part of Dee’s writings or if people are connecting dots that were never meant to be connected.

For those of you who’ve been into this topic a lot longer than I have, is the John Dee connection something that’s been discussed for years, or has it only become popular recently? And if you’ve actually read Dee’s work, do you think people are interpreting it fairly, or stretching it to fit modern ideas about NHI?

i’d really like to hear different perspectives because I’m still trying to figure out where the history ends and the speculation begins.

  1. >I always assumed discussions about non-human intelligence started with Roswell

That’s an odd assumption given the number of myths about dragons, gods, fairies, and other mythical creatures.
