I’ve begun writing about things I’ve noticed about this record, since I haven’t found any other “deep dive” about this record or even many extensive reviews, just people talking about the obvious. For years now I’ve always heard about this band seemingly “predicting” 9/11, and I just assumed it was a coincidence. Though there may exist some media predictions that seem more true than others, I genuinely do not know how anyone could explain the sheer amount of fucking connections you can draw from this album to the events of September 11th. My writing will most likely come off as very scattered and possibly confusing.
Three months before the events of 9/11, a band named “I am The World Trade Center” released an album called “Out of the Loop”
The music itself sounds like not very good indietronica, and very repetitive, as if it was created by a time traveler who had no interest in music, coming back in time to record this album just to see if we would pick up on any of the clues. Though I haven’t done the math, the lengths of all the songs seem to come to an average of three minutes, as nearly every single song hovers around three minutes.
The 11th song is called “September”
I have kept in mind that many of the lyrical oddities I’ve picked out could simply be metaphors for the artist’s emotions as well as other things, and me taking them into my own context. That being said, some lyrics make quite odd metaphors, and almost seem as if they are somewhat insensitively foreshadowing the events of 9/11.

Music video for first song features lighting effects of explosions above buildings
Lyrics “Now I’m all scattered around”
“How you’ve gone away, I’ll treat it like a holiday” (referencing the national day of remembrance for the event)
–
You’re probably thinking I sound crazy. The third song on the record it titled “Sounds So Crazy”
Lyrics “Sounds so crazy when I say it out loud”
–
Fourth song titled “Look Around You”
Lyrics “I’m uncomfortable with the roles I play cause I find it difficult to behave”
“They know they will never have the time cause as long as we’re around”
I’m not sure what to make of this.
–
Fifth track titled “Light Delay”
Lyrics “How could you, when I know who told”
“Smoke in your eyes, is that what stopped your heart from beating”
–
Twelfth song, coming after “September,” is titled “Move On”
Lyrics “Move on, don’t worry about it”
“Move on, forget out it”
I hate pointing out the similarities I’m drawing between this and the obvious as it feels somewhat childish, but I find this line in particular to be very interesting, considering the “never forget” slogan.

Tenth track titled “You Don’t Even Know Her”
Lyrics “I’m gonna make you believe things happen when you sleep” – What???
–
Seventh track “Holland Tunnel” begins with a sample of some vocal recording of a person saying “Are you relaxed and comfortable? Alright everybody, it’s time to get them.”
–
Ninth track is titled “Aurora Borealis” (referencing the lights that appear in the sky – curious [see my note about their music video])
–
To make it all worse, I kid you not, the damned fucking album ends with an instrumental song titled “Analogous.” (Analogous means being comparable or similar in certain ways, especially in function or relationship, even if the things themselves are fundamentally different. It is commonly used when drawing a parallel to help explain a complex concept) This part gave me fucking chills. As if they knew people in the future would draw comparisons from their album to the tragic event. I find this part fascinating because though I haven’t seen anyone online take a more in depth dive of this record, many, many people have still pointed out the fact that the 11th song is titled "September," making jokes about the band predicting 9/11 – I mean, at this point this is what the band is best known for, as if they knew their lyrical metaphors would be “analogous” with the tragic events
They might as well have just screamed “I KNOW 9/11 IS GOING TO HAPPEN” for 43 minutes straight – but how? I’ve never felt this naïve in my life. This record feels like a wonder of the world.

I’m writing this all late at night and don’t know if I’m going to wake up in the morning and laugh at all this but right now this is genuinely mind breaking to me.

Nothing is a coincidence. They all know. The Simpsons, the Hollywood movies, etc… they know. Most of them because they’re part of it, and they want to rub it in people’s faces so they can laugh later on when it goes over their heads. While a very select few know through other means, and want to help.
