Nothing about Ted Cruz as SCOTUS that's even remotely funny. There's too many intelligent citizens born in the US that would be a better choice.
Excerpt:
President Trump has floated the name of Senator Ted Cruz in connection with a possible Supreme Court opening. The idea has sparked plenty of discussion, especially given the long history between the two men and Cruz’s well-known profile in the Senate.
In a recent appearance, Trump laid out his thinking on the matter in his trademark straightforward style. He pointed to Cruz as someone who could secure broad support during a confirmation process. What stood out, though, was the unexpected twist in his explanation.
The president noted that Cruz might actually be one of the easier nominees to get confirmed because of how senators on both sides of the aisle feel about him.

I’ve wanted Cruz or Paul on SCOTUS since the 2000s this would make me very happy.
Ted Cruz is a Harvard Law School graduate who was editor of Harvard Law Review.
What’s to laugh at?
But, there isn’t an opening.
Unless the IQ test is implemented. 🤔 😂
Cruz would make a great addition to SCOTUS.
And he would definitely be opinionated, most likely to the right.
A position “may” come open right after the November elections should Republicans lose the Senate majority. Either Alito or Thomas “may” decide at that time I think.

It has been made clear by Justice Diversity-Hire that intelligence can be overlooked in the selection process.
With all due respect, the only way I’m okay with it is if he renounces his dual citizenship. I don’t think anyone should be involved with our government or justice system who have citizenship and loyalty to any other nations.
There isn’t a position that Cruz holds on any major topic that I don’t either outright agree with or can at least see his reasoning on. Being American born isn’t a litmus pass/fail for me (we’ve had several foreign born justices over our history) and I’m not privy to how his confirmation process would go any easier than any other these days.
That said, Cruz seems to me to be a solid strict constructionalist, at least insofar as his Senate and committee questions and statements seem to go and that philosophy is still under-supplied on that bench since the passing of Scalia.
Cruz would make an amazing Justice.
Certainly no worse than KBJ. At least Cruz won’t put slang and cartoon analogies in his opinions.
