Thank God. At least there will still be a small chance of defeating Collins.

I am hearing that on its deathbed the Platner campaign received the light of Islam and unhesitatingly recited the Shahada. Even now it looks down on the Ummah from the gardens of Jannah. Truly there is no god but Allah, and Mohammad is his prophet!

Platner had a lot of momentum and was really popular. His controversy gave him lots of visibility which is what got Trump elected. While I agree with him dropping out, I’m not optimistic anyone but him can beat Collins

Thank fucking Christ. Collins’ll still have an 80% chance of winning after all this, but that’s better than 100%.

  6. This should’ve ended with the tattoo. This guy is simply not a good person and the signs have been there from day 1

  7. A lot of people dooming about the chances in Maine and I’m just not there. Don’t underestimate how tired people are of geriatrics in government. I’m waiting to see who is put up at least until I lose all hope.

And shame on Platner for running at all.

Platner has unleashed the Pandora’s Box of bigotry, antisemitism and sexism, among the left in my state. My rabbi faced death threats for endorsing Mills, and even now a number of his supporters are still denying credible rape accusations and blaming Jews and AIPAC. I’m glad he’s out, but I really don’t want the next candidate to just sweep this all under the rug. They need to distance themselves from this, unequivocally. At this point I care more about that than about the candidate winning. This was a 2016 moment for our party.
