Government has been forced to pay back duties to companies that imported goods into the US that were hit by Trump’s tariffs
do you think it's possible that this was the plan all along? if so, it was quite nefarious. Corporations jack up prices, collect a shit ton of tariff revenue from joe shmo and hand it over to the gov. Then they declare those same tariffs illegal and have the gov hand that money back to the corporations, who of course have no intention of returning it to joe shmo or even lowering those jacked up prices. Corporations get to triple down and give some sweet, sweet boodle to those in the government. Everyone wins, except all the losers.

meanwhile, as always, small businesses that were affected can’t afford the lawyers to fight for their refund so the government gets to keep that ill gotten booty for themselves.
one more government hand out to large corporations and one more kick in the nuts to small business owners.
