The war makes no sense.
- NATO is supporting Ukraine. China/NK/Iran/Etc are soft supporting Russia.
This war has never made sense from day one. You may call the Russians incompetent, corrupt, etc and there is evidence to point to that. But there is no reason why Russia has not utterly crippled Ukraine, especially after the first few months when they were pushed out after arriving in the capital. Yes, this can be explained by corruption in the beginning, their air force was decrepit, not enough munitions, etc. But we are now several years in and they have still not mass used their strongest assets or even targeted key sectors/locations. As much as things have changed un Ukraine, so have they changed in Russia with rotation of personnel, techniques, armaments, etc.
This strange stalemate has pushed me into the conspiracy side of things after learning about the forces involved in WW1 and WW2 in particular, as despite Russia's weakness, this really should have been over long ago, or at the very least, they should not be struggling this much. Some will argue, "Russia is getting their butts kicked because NATO", okay, but China alone is close enough to NATO in terms of funding all around. Sure it can be argued that perhaps China is cautious about how they help so as to not be dragged into things, but they've already been the targets of NATO and their economies and accused of supporting Russia.
There is no reason for this war to be going on as it is. It really makes no sense. NATO should provide Ukraine with enough that they can utterly make the war untenable for Russia and vice-versa, but instead we get potshots, assassinations, terrorism on civilians and constant churning of bodies. "War is hell" isn't even funny at this point, it's just disgusting. I am sickened by all this maddening slaughter and loss of lives, environmental destruction and gross behaviours. The war can easily be over by either side and yet it's not. Arguments may come that "Well even the U.S couldn't win in the middle east after over two decades" and so forth, but that's because they didn't even bother to use their strongest weapons either(No I'm not talkin about nukes) and WERE able to secure countries, install rulers, even if temporarily and have good enough control over many of the nations at the time. Even freaking Russia was able to jocky with the U.S in Syria and split the country for a long time. But you're telling me that neither party can put a stop to this in ONE country in Europe?
2) That brings me to my more grounded suspicion. The war is really not about Ukraine or Russia, but about China.
This whole slaughter is a means of keeping Russia burning up its resources and people so that if and when China makes a move on Taiwan, Russia, who would be a major pain, will be too weak and exhausted to support China. China then would also not be dumping major resources into Russia, because they need to stockpile for their own machinations. Russia already lost their presence in Syria and the government was toppled as such and NATO favoured ruler put into place. Then the U.S began attacking Iran on and off and that debacle is still going on to today. The key players in this group, China, Russia, Iran, are all being squeezed from different angles and kept busy. As such, this has likely pushed back China's potential attack on Taiwan by at least a decade or more, and allows NATO to thus build up their own resources and forces. Notice all the saber rattling and talk about forced conscription in the EU in particular? The U.S in particular has been eyeing China since at least 2010 as their economy and military grows.
In summary, I believe we're either watching real time mass human sacrifice like what's happened in the middle east for decades, or nobody cares to actually stop the conflict because the conflict IS the point and is a round about way of weakening/targeting China. It's like every time Ukraine makes some waves, call them PR or not, funding is held back from them. And on Russia's side, they just do fuck all.
What do you guys think? What have I missed? What do you think is really going on? When do you think it will end?

Can MY funded terror group beat Your funded terror group.
Its all a big game and the Real players likely aren’t even Known
I think you are right on many fronts that China is the main target here and the Chinese more or less know it.
I have an even more conspiratorial opinion that Russia is unable to defeat Ukraine because nato/us help Ukraine just enough to make Russia perma invested in the war, and to corner Russia in manner that makes them fully invested in Ukraine war that they cannot lose.
Once the time comes to go war with China, Russia will be offered up Ukraine to join with allies, which it gladly will accept, and you have China facing attacks from Russia US and NATO.
back in the early days it was convincingly shown that Russia has shockingly bad supply chain practices despite managing an enormous world military. namely they do not (or at the time did not) have proper containerization. say what you will about NATO they are concerned about logistics and compatible with the pentagons very extensive logistics approach. Russia just piled crates randomly not into containers. at least at the beginning for some time. this rather badly hurt their ability to do forward base in general hence needing the rail lines very badly as well. despite, an obviously very short supply line. if people stick out wars like this they are a grind. and as shown in Ukraine the general staff upper entrenched Brass don’t make great decisions about resources and the Russian side obviously is not great at this as well. both being run by very old school Soviet mass tank guys.
I’m not sure if Russia updated it’s containers but their rail network is not very healthy despite it’s obvious linch pin role. setting aside all the other issues it is always important to look at logistics in slow wars
Wasn’t the reason that Europe didn’t begin seriously rearming Ukraine was:
1) they were terrified Russia might go nuclear
2) their own economies were set up for peace time consumption
3) Russia been ‘over there’, and no perceived threat to Western Europe
4) the U.S was Europe’s protector
Now that we’ve had 5 years of red scare and the U.S unreliablity, public opinion has softened to the idea of rearmament and you’re seeing Europe rapidly do that.
In regards to Russia, what do they have left apart from nukes? They’re already using glide bombs, ballistic missiles and have emptied their ‘bone yards’, meanwhile attacking Ukrainian energy and residential areas has provided no real breakthrough or deterioration of morale. I’m not sure what more Russia could throw at them to win. Mass mobilisation?
