You can’t tell me that the fix isn’t in for all these data centers. I’ve been avoiding the same potholes for years but they can approve and construct these data centers at the drop of a hat and you’re telling me these local officials aren’t being bribed? GTFOH. The scale and rapid nature of the construction is rly alarming. We’re heading towards a Wall-E future here faster than we’re aware. They’re rly gonna criminalize attending these meetings soon and being against these data centers. Arresting this teacher was meant to be a message. The process itself is the punishment. Mr. Claridge got arrested, posted bail, has to hire a lawyer and navigate the legal system, just for using his 1st amendment rights. But I guess that doesn’t matter to Oracle or whatever evil fucking tech company is building this data center.
What is it with these types not letting people talk and trying to paint themselves as the victims in all scenarios? Batons are more effective than handcuffs.

Lmao, they were literally warned to not disrupt the meeting and didn’t stop clapping. Twitchy trigger happy cops used it as an opportunity to live out their power fantasies. Doesn’t seem like much of a surprise to me. You’ll know this is as common as sliced bread if you’ve been paying any attention, doesnt have a thing to do with AI or data centers.
One thing to take away though, I’ve said before and I’ll say again, AI is melting the minds of the hardcore anti-AI folks nearly as much as it is the ones who fall into AI psychosis. I mean, I would speak out against a data center in my area as well. I’m not about to get arrested over it, especially in such a dumb way, and then act like I’m doing something important lol.
