I guess we’re hitting the classics now to distract from the disastrous and illegal Iran war, which was itself a distraction from the president being a pedophile. Maybe we’ll hear about a huge migrant caravan headed towards the border in a couple weeks too.

[The republicans have been targeting and arresting](https://www.theatlantic.com/science/2026/07/lab-leak-payback/687824/) scientists who worked at the CDC during the pandemic for this entire administration as part of their deranged conspiracy that [they created COVID ](https://www.dni.gov/13685/pr-11-26/)and covered up the leak from the Wuhan institute.

Apologies for not understanding correctly, but why did Fauci invoke the 5th here? I’m not deep on the COVID conspiracy lore so there’s a lot of missing context here. Why is his research on monkey-pox relevant?
