Things are getting really weird. Satellite heat maps are being removed online and people aren't being let in or out of their areas even with intact neighborhoods. Pictures are from yesterday and now on WFCA Fire Maps. They were letting people in yesterday, but you had to give the National Guard your ID and go by foot, and now nobody can go in or out.
Something fishy is going on. Eastern Washington isn't like Western Washington either. A LOT of us have guns and there's only so long that some of the people, especially from some of the affected neighborhoods, are going to exercise their right to defend their property. This whole thing feels like a powder keg ready to explode right now. The whole city has been on edge since it caught fire on Saturday and local coverage is a joke at best.
I'm not positive how much national attention this event has gotten, but what I'd assume is billions in property damage has happened in a city of only about a quarter million people in a few days. It was really bad, but as things have improved they've gotten weirder and weirder with government activity too.
There's a bit of other oddness like how a fire went up where it is said to have crossed the river when we're in a level 2 drought. Brush should catch on fire from embers that manage to float across that approximately 200-225 foot wide stretch of river far quicker than a house way up on a hill away from the river should.
I haven't seen anything about what the National Guard is doing being reported on, so I figured I'd make sure it was at least noted here. I don't want this to be something quietly swept under the rug like it never happened.

Hey there.
I live in Spokane, and I will say it has been a confusing time. Alot of people were upset as there was no helicopter footage, and when drones had been going to capture footage they grounded all of their planes as a result. I will say there are a TON of firefighters down here, upon my writing of this i know of at least 30 that are downtown spokane, but are no where near the fires and seem to be clean as whistles and relaxed, but who am I to assume. The old trail fire in particular tho, funnily enough is where they wanted to build an AI data center. There’s alot of money in that, wouldnt suprise me if it was a cover-up. But it’s been tragic here in the city. Lots of stress lots of uncertainty. Im just hoping it doesn’t reach my home as I’ve been in a evacuation zone.

An important step to help prevent looting and track how many people are in the danger zone.
As to not being able to leave, sometimes leaving to late is more dangerous than sheltering in place.
