Aren’t these two Pew Research Center infographics on views toward same-sex marriage & homosexuality itself respectively around the world seemingly pretty contradictory when it comes to India?

The same-sex marriage survey was conducted June 2-Sept 12 2023, while the homosexuality itself one was conducted May 5-May 11 2025, so less than two years had passed from the moment when they conducted the first one to the moment when they conducted the second one.

On the other hand, Pew Research Center is as prestigious of a multinational public opinion research firm as it gets, so despite seeming contradictory at first glance they should in principle be trusted.

The other thing I will add is that the neighbouring Nepal, which is even more Hindu than India itself (Nepal is 81.2% Hindu, while India is 79.8% Hindu), became in June 18 2026 the first country in South Asia & the third one after Taiwan & Thailand in the entirety of Asia to legalize same-sex marriage, after the Supreme Court of Nepal issued a binding order to the government to recognize same-sex marriages, I'm not aware though of any poll or survey polling the inhabitants of the country about their views on same-sex marriage/homosexuality itself.
