Bonds are getting very expensive (for a lot of govts) right as govt spending (at least in the US) skyrockets—along with the debt. Something has to give.
Lol nothing would give. Bonds wont get a bid unless there is a change in investor expectations. Bonds are a hedge against deflationary shocks, but if you got a government ( state) that keeps proving to you that it will do everything and anything to cut off that deflationary tail. Why buy bonds ? Since 2020 – even the counter trend rallies in bond prices are short lived as people know that Uncle Sam’s hands are tied………..
