    Even as many hope that data center construction and AI demand will be beneficial to the environment overall by necessitating more clean energy projects, Amazon is planning a 7.65GW gas-fired power plant alongside a data centre campus in Pecos, Texas.* It would one of, if not the biggest, polluters and gas projects in U.S. history if built to specifications, as it would be permitted to release 33 million tons of carbon dioxide per year.

    The most polluting power plant in U.S. history would be gas-fired, not coal-fired? Is this just carbon emissions?
