The pro-Tokayev Adilet party won the Kazakh parliamentary elections in a landslide winning 71% of the vote with the pro-Tokayev Auyl party coming in second with 6%, the pro-Tokayev Respublica party coming in third with 5.5% of the vote, both the pro-Tokayev Aq Jol party coming in fourth and the slightly less pro-Tokayev JSDP party coming in fifth managed to reach the 5% threshold. This election further consolidated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s power who has been president of Kazakhstan since the resignation of his predecessor Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2019 following protests which started the year before. This is also the first parliamentary election of the new unicameral Kurultai after a constitution referendum to draft a new constitution earlier this year passed with almost 90% of the vote for replaced the old bicameral Mäjılıs.
