The matrix has to keep us just unhappy and insecure enough to keep buying, but not so miserable that we completely disengage from the system, so insecurity is the most profitable emotion, which social media feeds by showing us the highlight reels of other people’s lives, which aren’t actually a real reflection of their real lives.

I don’t know how I feel about labeling it “the Matrix” tm, but yeah… capitalism is built on the perpetual drive to convince people to buy crap they don’t actually need. Fabricate a new need or desire, then sell products that address that new need or desire.

Can government printing money out of this air, creating a monopoly of the currency, bailing out corporations and also using inflated money to fund wars, really be called capitalism? Sounds like too much government involvement to be called capitalism. More like oligarchy or socialism without the handouts to the people.
