In a move being ***framed*** as a pause to conduct a more thorough check to on who might become a financial burden to the government if admitted, the State Department has paused ***all*** immigrant visa applications.
This includes family reunification and spousal style visas, which have up to this point been a mostly untouched category.
The State Department has not released any information about when the pause would end.
