Google Maps is facing backlash over its latest capitulation to President Donald Trump’s demands.
The company has renamed Lake Ontario to “Lake America” after Trump, 80, signed an executive order to rename it amid his trade war with Canada. Their capitulation, coming months after it changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico to Trump’s preferred “Gulf of America,” is not going over well.

Obama bypassed a congressional committee to rename Mt. Mckinley to “Denali” and everyone accepted that. So Trump thinks it’s within his authority to rename whatever the hell he wants to. You have to be careful about the precedents you set, imagine how the power you grab will be used for something evil, or stupid.

I’m in the UK. I just looked on Google Maps and its still only named Lake Ontario for us. I think this might just be a USA only thing to humour a certain orange skinned pedo (and rapist).
Should google have the authority to pick and choose which executive orders to follow?
