As one can see, the pathologies of Europe’s car industry can’t really be completely outsourced to exogenous causes when many of the causes are endogenous. Indeed, any solutions to these maladies should be domestic rather than doing the politically impossible thing of, for example, persuading China to revalue the Yuan.
