MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A man charged in the wrong-way crash on Interstate 270 that killed a mother and her daughter in late August is an illegal immigrant, according to officials.
According to Maryland State Police, a Ford Mustang, piloted by a man suspected of drunk driving, drove north in the southbound lanes and struck their vehicle, killing both Begum and Jahin.
“This illegal alien has been charged after a drunk-driving crash that killed a woman and her daughter and injured two others, including an 8-year-old girl, in Montgomery County, Maryland,” said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin. “This tragedy was completely avoidable.
