Too many candidates can’t show up on time; struggle to take initiative or accept constructive criticism. They can’t solve problems without detailed instructions, nor can they handle an ordinary setback without falling apart.
I had a business, I saw every range on my employees. From the one who felt he was entitled to a paycheck simply for showing up to the guy who busted his ass to make appointments and get the bonuses for bringing in more work.
The hilarious part was the guy who felt entitled, got pissed off when I fired him.
When you get a job, you AGREE, a verbal contract, to certain responsibilities. If you don’t do them, you shouldn’t get paid.

To me this is the telling part.
