A couple things to consider here. A 5 point swing isn’t that massive (although it is significant). And worth noting the definition of what is “conservative” has shifted substantially as GenZ’ers grew up. Ten years ago someone that is “moderate” may very well fit under the “conservative” branding. Same goes for formerly liberal now being moderate. Especially amongst GenZ, which has a very puritanical way of looking at what it means to be liberal.
However, I do think the left did swing a bit too far toward being anti-male, which has had some ramifications on GenZ growing up.

I feel like Harris running ads talking about men’s mental health/suicide rates and announcing some sort of initiative could go a long way in reaching some of these voters. It’s a problem that rarely ever gets talked about

Partisan self-ID =/= partisan vote share. The latest Harvard youth poll had Harris/Trump at 61/30 with 18-29s. In an election, the vast majority of those self-ID’d “moderates” are gonna break for liberals.

I’m a Gen Z Mexican, so my experience don’t have an effect in the American election, but I’ve seen that a lot of my (male) peers are economically populist while being wildly conservative in the social issues.
