I fear there will not be post-Trump era. The grip of Trump on the American psyche is too strong that MAGA is now a national identity. Unless there is a drastic change, Trump would establish a political dynasty that dominates the U.S. for years to come. Just like the shadow of Park Chung-hee gripped the Korean politics for decades since his assassination, American politic would be the overshadowed by Trump’s legacy. Just like Park’s assassination failed to end the myth of Park Chung-hee and required 2016 candlelight revolution to escape the shadow of Park Chung-hee, the U.S. is dragged into a deep pit where it would take decades to overcome.

Printing a fresh “fell for it again” award for the good folks at The Dispatch. Conservatives are giving no indication that they want to turn away from this brand of politics, or reverse the downward spiral it has us in.
