I don’t believe for a single second that voters will reward us for keeping these idiotic tariffs in place in the name of their usefulness for dealing with the debt, the purely populist rent seeking angle is more believable at least, even if it is stupid

Inflation is higher today than when Biden left office. You can easily point to tariffs as a reason for higher prices and easily wipe away all of the Trump/Biden era tariffs. There is no dance to be had over this. It’s the most obvious solution.
