Trump, hoping to salvage midterms, makes a dubious pledge to give every US adult $5,000 if GOP wins

  1. I’m not voting R in the midterms to receive a handout. This could be accomplished better in some tax incentive way for working Americans. We just don’t have the money to pay for it.

Still voting R in midterms, just not because of this.

I notice Vance sort of walked it back a bit. Basically implying the idea was the economy will do so well after the midterms everyone would be $5000 better off. But I mean… by what metric do you decide presumably the lowest earner is that much better off.

In general though when I heard him say it, especially calling it a Trump dividend.. just felt a bit desperate and cringe. Feels like it’s an admission absolutely nothing (Iran mainly) will be resolved before the mid-terms so…$5k trust me bro. It just looks like buying votes.

Also seeming to say Iran will be over immediately after the midterms. “Right after the election oil prices will tumble down, I think we can get it to $2 a gallon.”. How about doing it right before, that would surely look much better if it’s so easy..

Yeah, cause that will help inflation… I see he is trying to fight fire with fire, because the Dems live and die on the promise of freebies, but this isn’t it. Pay the national debt down, it will pay dividends to everyone in the long term.

My comment was removed from the last post, but I’ll say it again: this man is a danger to the party and to the conservative movement at large. He is a liability to anyone who wants to preserve American traditions and conservative values. We should never have given a populist like him the reins to the party.
