Submission Statement: On Friday it was announced that crypto-billionaire Ben Delo had donated a record £36m to Reform, effectively a full year's worth of donations for a major party and by far the biggest single donation by an individual. Today Christopher Harborne, the crypto-billionaire behind the £5m donation that sparked the investigation into Farage and all that has followed, has announced he's given Reform another £36m, meaning in two days the party has received £72m, well above what a big party in the UK would normally raise from donations in a whole year.
This naturally has renewed interest in donation rules and whether there should be a change to cap the amount an individual can give, for instance. And it all of course comes with the wider context of Farage and Reform being under investigations due to dodgy donations.
