  1. I was extradited with a black guy and we went to the same destination jail. During intake, he said he was white, and i asked why. He said it’s because he’ll get better medical care.

  2. This is something you will notice on federal paperwork, that “Hispanic/Latino” is a modifier to another Ethnicity. It’s rather strange honestly, but idk how else you would categorize Hispanic people with primarily Spanish/Portuguese ancestry.

BCA has 2 classes, he would be WHT and Hispanic (race and ethnicity). It’s not to skew data.

That data point is decided by the prisoner either during processing or from a government ID, which is also self determined.

  5. The real reason why Latino people in the US are classified as white has to do with a school integration cases in California in the early 1900’s. Basically the state lost the case so mexican children got to go to the previously all white school, but to keep black kids out they reclassified Hispanic/Latinos as white. So as with almost every stupid thing in America its because of racism.

  6. Because they dont want you to know how much they actually go after certain demographics as they do.

  7. This is common. Someone just actually pulled 500 arrest records from Charlotte, NC and a majority of the minorities were categorized as white.

In addition to “white man bad”, they need to beef up those numbers to compete with the other ethnicities.

Yeah when I buy a gun I have to claim I’m white! Very fucking stupid to say I’m white when I’m not. I Mexican as well! It’s a dam disgrace to be white in America

It’s so they can say that white crimes are high and to piss you off, to steal loosh.

  11. Negroid, Caucasoid, and Mongoloid were used predominantly in the past to describe what was seen as the three distinct anthropological “races”. Hispanic people have always been grouped into Caucasian categories due to this classification system.

The ignorance in these comments section is INSANE

It’s always been this way, and I’m Hispanic. Whenever it asks for my race, I’m white… even though I’m not really, then for ethnicity I’m Hispanic.
