Most sci-fi assumes we’d send a UN ambassador or a brilliant scientist to make First Contact. But let's be real: if an extraterrestrial intelligence actually showed up, the military-industrial complex and global elites would lock that down immediately.
We wouldn't get philosophers or ordinary people representing the best of humanity; we'd get a sanitized, hand-picked panel of politicians and approved insiders designed to protect existing power structures.
Who do you think should actually speak for us? And more importantly, who do you think the powers-that-be would force to the front instead?

Politicians suck and are chronically liars while scientists suck even at communicating with other humans. We have to find some sort of outliar.
My candidate would be Elon Musk, he’s probably somewhere in the middle between humans and aliens intelligence-wise and somewhat able to communicate with average intelligence humans.
Probably that fake country controlling all the politicians.
