Back in 2012 or so there was a big push by the atheist community to point out the failings of all religions. There was a really weird backlash to this where many were totally ok with pointing out the problems with Christianity, but baulked at the idea of criticising Islam.
“Not our culture” claimed some, “you can’t judge others” daid another, seemingly oblivious that Christianity is not an atheists culture, and what they were doing was very much judging others. Then they created Athiesm+ which was primarily focused on being feminists over being athiests.
Strange times.

Because Democrats hate Christianity and anything that undermines it is a net positive to them, regardless of what ELSE comes with it. You will find this virtually in every single one of their positions. Either it’s directly supporting something to oppose Christianity, or it’s seeking to appropriate Christianity (almost always falsely) for unChristian ends. Democrats hate Christians. If you hate them too, they love you.

Because Christ is their ultimate enemy, and to them western culture is the only vector in which Christianity can be freely shared. Destruction of western culture means the message is way harder to get out and sustain.

There’s a fundamental disagreement with anyone left leaning. As conservatives/conservative leaning, etc. We believe in individual autonomy and agency. We believe individuals can choose how they live, and are responsible for their actions. We teach this to our kids.
The left does not believe in it. They believe everyone is pure at birth and corrupted by society. Anything they do after that is “not their fault, they are a product of their society”. This is why they also believe that if they just “educate” radicals, it will solve problems. They align with them because they just want power to enforce their ideology in order to bring about this amazing society where everyone and everything is perfect. They read the giver and thought “This is perfect”.
This is why when you suggest “people know how to get an ID card to vote”, they get angry because they are saying “how dare you punish someone for being born that way”.
