About 25 years ago there was a small change of wording in an economic report regarding the gold in the U.S. It used to be called “gold reserves” and they changed it to “custodial accounts.” They did this because the gold was sold by Clinton and prob Bush too and for the past 25 years we have been charging the owners to store it safely in Fort Knox.
It’s being exported now because the owners no longer trust the United States to keep it safe and/or not confiscate it. And the reason for that is our country is less than a decade away from insolvency.
