It’s the TPP all over again; a great, vitally important deal that would be a boost for the US and its allies, but is given fierce, vocal opposition by people (or at least their representatives) in states where your vote counts several hundred times more than anywhere else in the country. ″Foreign influence″ is seen as a pejorative in a global economy, regardless of how good it is.
