The New York Times has discovered what the problem in Venezuela. Election fraud, nah, shortages of basic needs, nope, it is that evil economic model, CAPITALISM! Not just your run of the mill capitalism either it is brutal capitalism.

When a socialist dictator takes over and takes over all the industry it’s not “brutal capitalism” its socialism/communism. Given the name of this sub I would assume we would know what true capitalism looks like. This is like saying China has capitalism. lol
The term “capitalism” is certainly misused by the NYT
Unfortunately, “authoritarianism”, “kleptocracy”, and “plutocracy” has been made erroneously synonymous with “capitalism” in some people’s minds.
Walter Duranty would still feel right at home at the paper he propagandized for.

That paragraph is taken out of context. And to be sure it is very unfortunately written. However the article leaves no doubt that this is a classic authoritarian failure. The article in itself is a scathing indictment of of a populist authoritarian system under the flag of socialism setup by Chavez and Maudro.
