This man is right on the money. None of what the US is doing right now is good for America’s long term interests.

He was way ahead of his time.
Thing is, the US forbids Israel to for example produce its own fighter planes amongst other weaponry. US demands this so that they can print fiat usd to give Israel as aid with the caveat that Israel must use this money to buy weapons from US companies. It’s a way to stimulate the US economy which is fucked because US is incentivized to spark conflict. Another reason is in order to dictate policy to Israel by strategically withholding weapons, as the Biden administration has just done to force a cease fire with hizballah recently. Imo US policy has to change in that instead of making allies dependent on them for weapons and screwing over the tax payer, to instead give their allies the tools to create the weapons for themselves. This would be beneficial for the US tax payer and for their allies such as Israel.
I’m guessing he didn’t have an AIPIC buddy.
Ron Paul save us
These Presidential debates played a huge part in me becoming a libertarian. In 2008 I thought Ron Paul was crazy, just like everyone else. By 2012 I started considering that maybe he was right all along and this is what a real leader sounds like. Telling us things that are correct even if we’re not ready to hear it.
Ron Paul is always right because he’s principled. These other fairies drift with the winds of popular opinion.
We prevent them from taking care of themselves. If it wasn’t for us, they’d have all the hostages back.
Israel, cannot in fact take care of themselves. I don’t think people realize how much the US props up Israel. We’ve provided israel in over $300 billion in subsidies, weapons, and aid since its inception. That doesn’t include the political, legal, and moral support Israel enjoys from the US.
Israel is surrounded by enemies. Apart from intelligence and IP it doesn’t really provide much value. A decent chunk of its population doesn’t do much – they’re just settlers. If the US stopped funding Israel, it would quickly fall within a couple years.
Having said that, we really have no real strategic need for Israel.
Could there be other reasons for sending money to Israel besides the one Ron Paul suggested?
The best President America never had.
The first debate I ever watched was the 2008 Republican debate. I was 13 years old and Ron Paul just made sense. Now I’m almost 30 and he still makes the most sense of any candidate to run for president that I’ve ever seen/heard.
