    I only gave the article a quick skim so I could be missing something, but it seems to try to boil the issue down to race/ethnicity (which seems to be common theory amongst progressives). One thing that stood out to me is that they didn’t look at the impact of crime, which is one of the major things people are upset with.

    Maybe there’s more to it but this just seems to be a typical “we’re not the problem, it’s social issues”, which just seems like a cop out to me.

  2. This is my prior of the race as well, seems less of a broad backlash like people initially thought and more of a backlash amongst very specific groups that were more pronounced in places those groups are more prominent.

  3. It’s crime plus the general shift of minority groups towards Trump. Look at prop 36 in CA. People do not want criminal justice progressives.
