The Honeymoon Won't Last

Why Trump's honeymoon is likely to be much shorter than most

Gaetz already dropped out and Hegseth’s mommy is calling Senators to promise he’ll quit drinking if he’s confirmed.

Trump is already contending with his worst problems in getting stuff done: he’s a lazy moron who can’t attract talent.

  2. But will anyone care? If we are truly in a vibes world, who has the credibility to make the Trump bad argument?

Even MSM is falling over itself to praise the “Trump coalition” and condemn Dems. Some in prog media are even signaling favoritism towards Trump or at least delighting in Dems loss.

I’ve said from the beginning, the buyer’s remorse is gonna hit quickly and hard.

It’s like getting back with a toxic ex, everyone is gonna be having flashbacks of 45’s staggering dumbfuckery by March 1, and if he actually follows through on tariffs, it’s going to leave a mark on people’s perception of the guy.

  4. I think it’s pretty simple.

People already know Trump very well and know he’s an asshole.

They’ll soon remember that he’s also corrupt and incompetent, and it will also become apparent that he has suffered further cognitive decline over the last four years. People are going to realize quickly that they’re getting the “2020 wanted people to inject bleach” Trump, not the 2017-2019 version who was a jerk who did some unpopular things but had the luck to preside over an economy he didn’t manage to screw up too badly. They’ll also quickly realize that without adults around to mind him, he’s a much more destructive force than they realized. Some of his policies (tariffs, deportations, etc.) will result in economic damage, and people will realize things aren’t getting cheaper again, but rather the opposite.

In six months or so I think everyone will realize everything they disliked about Trump the first time is still there, only much worse, and the things they liked about his presidency aren’t coming back. His popularity will decline, and if/when the economy actually collapses into recession so will it.

Dude got re-elected with worst possible job on Covid, convicted felon and tons and tons of shit where .0001% would’ve sank somebody else. He has a full cult behind him that thinks hes a literal God or messiah or some sort.

We keep saying “oh man, this is definitely it for him…no way he’ll recover from this…” and a few days later “oh shit, he just got away with it”. He’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Because the SECOND those tarriffs hit and prices skyrocket the whole “Trump made our economy better” is going to shatter in their faces
