Dems clearly need to pivot to the center, yet another evidence
Harris only gaining ground with white self-identified conservatives kind of encapsulates the whole election.
Past positions matter and connections to a historically unpopular and historically left wing president doesn’t help. It’s kind of unfortunate because she genuinely recognized the risks and did the best she could but Harris should not have been the replacement.
Biden governed much more progressive than he campaigned. A lot moderate and conservative voters that he would be less aggressive on progressive legislation.
So when Harris would had a much more liberal career pre White House campaigned to be a moderate, moderates and conservatives did not bite and felt tricked by Biden.
