Don’t kid yourself, a lot of people will enthusiastically support the MIC if for nothing else it creates jobs in their district. The Berry Act requires military supplies (used by US MIL or given away) to be US made so there is an entire industry of good paying jobs that ensures the loyalty of the demographic that benefits from it.
