      It’s hard to overstate how transformational this will be for the city. It will connect the existing pockets of walkable density. Columbus is also voting this November on a levy to [build Bus Rapid Transit](https://linkuscolumbus.com/)and a proper bike grid. Along with the massive Intel chip plant under construction, the future is bright in Columbus!

      Between Zone In for Columbus yesterday and Connected Communities passing a couple months ago for Cincinnati, it’s a great year to be a YIMBY in Ohio. Cleveland, you’re up.

      Beat me to posting this – As an Ohio resident and someone moving to Columbus next year, I’m so fucking excited to live in this city and continue to see it grow and urbanize!!

      One thing that caught my attention about this reform is that a lot of the strip malls in some of the more suburban areas of the city are being rezoned into “Community/Regional Activity Centers”, which would allow for higher density, mixed-use development at a lot of the major intersections well outside downtown (with no parking minimums!). It would be cool if we started to see some more developments like Dublin’s [Bridge Park](https://www.visitdublinohio.com/listing/bridge-park/356/) pop up around the city.

      I would love to read an article that grades out how good all the city upzoning initiatives that have been passing in cities around the US. I can’t keep up with all of them!

      Lucky Columbus! It would be a dream if this could happen in my city. Sadly we can’t even get a 12-floor high rise apartment building downtown by the river approved without the existing condo owners behind them suing in court.
