I think Canada has enough of its own problems to jump from one circus to another. On an unrelated note why is Oregon’s marginal tax rate so high?

I’m not going to apologize. Most of us self-select into the so-called “east-coast lifestyle,” to one degree or another. It’s not really sustainable though.

Off the subject, which is pretty dumb, I assume Saskatchewan has energy reserves? I’m surprised to see it so high up on the GDP per capita chart (Also, Quebec so low).

Certainly wish our economy was better and housing was cheaper, but the slightly higher taxes is the price you pay for universal health care and good public schools and universities. Somehow the US has none of those things and still runs a deficit of 7% of GDP.

There is a lot of discussion on here about this. It’s well know that Canada has higher taxes than the US and a lower GDP per capita than US.
However the overwhelming majority of Canadians don’t want to be part of the US. There are a lot of things Canadians like about Canada, which would disappear if Canada were annexed.
