Here are the highlights
**Syria:** Authoritarian regimes are always much more delicate than they appear, especially when the only legitimacy the government has is force. While the future is uncertain, the real victors appear to be Israel and Turkey.
**China:** Frank does not see China embracing Western style democracy anytime soon. If China were to liberalize, they would return to the Jiang Zemin type of authoritarianism or at best, something akin to the Singapore model.
**Germany:** Frank and Yascha talk about the worrying decline of Germany and one thing they talk about is their automotive industry. While Frank embraces free markets, allowing a flood of cheap Chinese EVs into their country is concerning given Germany’s reliance on manufacturing.
**Brian Thompson and Luigi Mangione:** While Frank and Yascha point out how much more money American schoolteachers make compared to the rest of the world and perhaps teacher unions should be more grateful for what they often have, the same cannot be said about US healthcare. The state of US healthcare and insurance is extremely embarrassing and absurd and the shooting of Brian Thompson showed it.
