  1. While I like the pick of Walz overall, I do think this is a valid criticism and point. Raising corporate taxes while running a surplus and also putting the surtax on capital gains are not particularly sound economic policies.

    Of course, I don’t think he’ll have much effect on tax policy if he’s VP but it’s something that’s worth criticism IMO.

    Minnesotans don’t have angst about tax raises. This is known as the Mondale rule.
