The fact the judge seems prepared to give a sentence of “unconditional discharge” is beyond insulting. He already said the crime fully warrants incarceration.
A proper implementation of justice would be a prison sentence that is suspended for the duration of time that he occupies the office. It respects the constitutional separation of powers while preserving the authority of the state and its jurisdiction.
