The public has spoken. Recessions and and 20 percent unemployment are preferable to inflation.
It didn’t fail Americans. Not being able to make people feel better is a politics issue, not a policy one.
Republicans have becomes experts on making people “feel worse off” for political gain, and blame the ‘libs’ for it.
