You’d be forgiven for thinking “free speech absolutist” means being against using the machinery of the state to punish specific viewpoints. But it actually means being able to use slurs without making people mad.

I mean if this is the EO (pic below), it doesn’t seem so bad. If you do violate our laws while on a student visa then yeah I do think you should lose your visa. Obviously I’m worried about the chilling implications that this EO can have but at same time, if you’re engaging in vandalism & intimidation on behalf of a US-designated terrorist organization, blocking Jewish kids (or anyone for that matter) from attending their class, assaulting worshippers partially because of their faith & vandalizing monuments, yeah I’m sorry I don’t free bad if you lose your student visa. You came here to study. Not to engage in violent political activism on behalf of terrorists. My main issue is that I don’t trust Trump to administer this fairly.
Honestly, I am unsure how to feel about this. On the one hand, although I absolutely despise most if not all pro-Palestinian protesters, they merely have a different point of view. On the other hand, they are not citizens and are actively acting in the interests of our enemy.
But still, I am pretty sure anyone can make the case the other part is just taking the part of the enemy. So, I’d still go against taking away their VISAs. But I am frankly not shedding any tears for these terrorist supporters either way. My biggest problem is that the USA is setting a bad precedent.

These protest are full of citizens. Many of them are white allies. Trump is not gonna start deporting white people
